The streeper family adds another notch on their career this past weekend. It was a successful weekend for Buddy Streeper at the 65th World Championship Sled Dog Races. Fort nelson resident, Streeper earned his 9th career world championship, a 3 day, 105 mile race, after just winning the Wyoming Championship. The event was special not only for Buddy Streeper, but also for his wife who rewrote the record books by becoming the highest placed woman in the event. She was also awarded with Rookie of the Year, earning a hand crafted knife by Sid McKay. The next race on the circuit is back in the family's hometown Fort Nelson. The race will take place March 8-10 with over $85,000 in prizes to take home.
